This September, the streaming service Crackle will be adding a new addition to its original programming lineup. The one-hour drama “StartUp” follows an unconventional story about the emergence of GenCoin, a brilliant, yet controversial tech idea centered around digital currency incubated by three strangers on the wrong side of the tracks, and the crooked FBI agent who will go to any lengths to take them down.

Martin Freeman stars as FBI agent Phil Rask who specializes in financial crimes  and crosses paths with Nick Talman, played by Adam Brody, an intelligent financier. Rask is after Talman’s wealthy, irresponsible father who disappears and forces Nick to stash his ill-gotten gains, but instead of going to the FBI, he invests it in GenCoin pitched by the unorthodox tech whiz Izzy Morales (Otmara Marrero). But when Ronald Dacey (Edi Gathegi), second-in-command of the local Haitian gang, discovers the money he left with Nick’s father has vanished, he forces a partnership with Nick and Izzy, which makes them a target for Rask who plans to journey to the very pit of darkness to take down the unsuspecting trio.
